Make your projects—raise the quality of your work.

The Austin School of Film formed through combining the Austin Cinemaker Co-op and the Center for Young Cinema in 2003.  Austin Cinemaker Co-op began in 1996 by a small group of filmmaking enthusiasts who, with shared passion for making movies, pooled their limited production resources. The mission of the resulting organization was dedicated to the belief that filmmaking is a financially accessible art form encouraging freedom of expression, experimentation, and the proactive exchange of ideas between filmmakers. The Co-op came to be recognized as an outstanding filmmaking resource center and received the D. Montgomery Award from the Austin Film Society in recognition of its contribution to the local filmmaking community in 2001.

In honor of this history and tradition, we've relaunched the Cinemaker Group to give filmmakers a place to gain strength in their serious pursuits of the craft of making movies. A group to make contacts through, showcase your talents, to work with, and, most importantly, to be inspired.

THE BIG PREVIEW
Dates to be announced, 7pm

The Big Preview is your night. It's fun seeing new and old faces and showing people's projects on the 60 inch HD TV. Please come down and be part of this night and make connections for your projects. This is a positive environment for serious minded filmmakers to show their works in progress and get helpful feedback without ego-driven criticism. For those who want to strive to be great, and to know that greatness is found in the process and the work. So come down and be a part of a film loving group that shows film works in all stages of the process.

Free drinks and snacks. Generally held the second Sunday of every month. All are welcome. If you're interested in screening, bring something along.
