SXSW Youth M.A.F.I.A. Day Film Festival
Every year, the Austin School of Film, in conjunction with SXSW Film, has a 24-hour film competition on the first weekend of SXSW. Filmmakers, ages 14-19, get into groups of four and have only 24 hours to script shoot, and edit a five-minute short according to guidelines. Austin School of Film teachers and mentors, editing equipment, meals, and drinks will be provided. Each team must bring their own DV camera; however, some cameras will be available to participants on a case by case basis.
