Get ready to be entertained as we bring Ellie's heartfelt story to life through a special live reading of the award-winning short screenplay written by Chantelle James, LOVE, FROM ELLIE.
This in-person fundraising event promises to be a memorable experience that will warm your heart. In addition, you can look forward to live music, drinks, an audition competition, silent auction and raffle prizes! Every ticket purchased will receive a raffle ticket. The best part? All vendors will be pledging a portion of their proceeds to the Wind River Tribal Buffalo Institute, an indigenous led organization that buys back ancestral lands and restores buffalo populations.

New Manifest Theatre's Main Character Energy with Christine Hoang
As part of New Manifest Theatre's Manifest Minifest 5th annual short play festival, workshops about writing, directing, and producing are included in our week of programming.
In this writing workshop, participants will dive into the creation of story by exploring who their main character is - his flaws, her strengths, their wants, their obstacles. The workshop will then have participants create story beats so they can further develop their writing beyond the class. The characters discussed in class must be fictional for purposes of this workshop. They can have traits inspired by real people. But to challenge the imagination and deepen the writing, the main character must be fictional.
WE EXIST: A Nite of Visual & Cinematic Arts

New Manifest Theatre's Directing Process: Open Forum with Lisa Scheps
As part of New Manifest Theatre's Manifest Minifest 5th annual short play festival, workshops about writing, directing, and producing are included in our week of programming. In this workshop, award-winning director Lisa Scheps leads an open discussion around her unique process of directing – from play selection to opening night as well as her philosophies of producing theatre. Lisa will spend the later half of the session as a Q&A about her experience directing in Austin (or anything else you may be interested in).
Screening Party: Route to Emancipation (Documentary)
You're invited to the Austin premiere of Black History Bike Ride's short film "The Route to Emancipation". This documentary follows BHBR's leaders, Talib, Ariel, and Brandon, as they undertake a 350-mile cycling route from the Texas Capitol in Austin to the site in Galveston where Juneteenth began in 1865. Along the way, they explore centuries of Black history through interviews with historians and community leaders. After the screening there will be a Q&A with the filmmakers.
A Spooktacular Night with Lilith Fund
Each fall, Lilith Fund is excited to make space in the community for celebration, reflection, and joy. That’s why they are hosting a spooktacular night of fun with fellow Lilith Fund supporters to celebrate another year of funding abortion and being here for Texans.
It's going down Friday, November 3 at 7PM. Get your costume ready and prepare for a night of delicious food, photo ops, and dancing! Tickets and sponsorships are available now, and the proceeds of this event support Lilith Fund's hotline for abortion access.

The Art of Surviving State Violence
Join Texas After Violence Project for an evening celebrating the 2023 Visions After Violence cohort and their work. We will take time together as a community to commemorate and reflect on the interviews and creative projects of fellows, whose projects look at police brutality in Austin, the realities of incarceration at Hays County jail, and the impact on families by mass incarcerating women.

End Overdose Austin 2023
On August 25, Join the Texas Harm Reduction Alliance (THRA) for a fun and inspiring evening, with food, drinks, and dancing! Doors open at 5:30pm, followed by the program at 6pm.
The Texas Harm Reduction Alliance (THRA) is on the front lines of the drug war and overdose crisis, offering life-saving, non-judgmental harm reduction services, training and supplies for people who use drugs. In the last year, our participants kept someone alive 633 times with narcan they received at THRA.
HOT TAKES 03: Uýra: The Rising Forest
Join us on August 20 for a special screening of Uýra: The Rising Forest presented by Austin’s newest film series HOT TAKES and in partnership with amazing local nonprofits!
While traveling through the Amazon, Uýra shares ancestral knowledge with Indigenous youth to promote the significance of identity and place, threatened by Brazil's oppressive political regime. Through dance, poetry, and stunning characterization, Uýra boldly confronts historical racism, transphobia, and environmental destruction, while emphasizing the interdependence of humans and the environment.
